Everything on your site should point toward the bundle of goodies your visitors recieve for leaving their email address and their permission to let you contact them again.

In order to entice them to leave their email address you must design a "welcome basket" filled with all kinds of wonderful free goodies. They should feel that they are completely crazy not to take advantage of your generosity.
